Playing in the leaves

Here is a laoyout I have been waiting to do since Cricut had the layout cartridges as free cuts a couple weeks ago. I cut the title using one of those free cuts. The maple leaves you see here are stamped and then fussy cut, colored in and then accented with my Wink of Stella glitter marker. The tree was created using my Sew Eazy tool and a floss. The floss is varigated shades of brown.

I used light and dark shades of both green and brown to fit the theme "opposites attract" for the current challenge at Lasting memories challenge blog. I entered that challenge here. They have a give away this week so check it out nd join them.

Summertime

Summertime

All the patterned papers I used were from DCWV stacks. I cut the beach umbrella, chair and sand from the Paper Dolls-Every Day cartridge. The chair actually flips up and that is where I have my journaling.  I used mesh and brads that I got at the scrapbook expo last year. I stamped the starfish and waves using CTMH - Under the sea stamps. The waves are accented using smooch accent ink and a Stella glitter pen (which I got new at Scrap A doodle Do).
The title is the title of a DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince song named Summertime which is a requirement to enter in the Stamp It with a song challenge at LMCB.

As usual I have so many pictures from that day, that I created a second page. It even has an empty spot for a picture I know exists but I can't find it.

Birthday Flowers

This card was created using the gypsy and  the Simply charmed and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridges. The flower pot was welded from a rectangle and a drink. The tag for the message in the card was cut from CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.
I punched the flowers using a Ms punch. I added Ms pearls and some ink accents. I inked the purple cardstock and sentiment cut out with lavendar chalk.

The sentiment is from Docerela Creations.

I sure hope my sister loves this card!!

Up for the Challenge

Since this is National Scrapbooking Month I tried to do a layout every day. But then my job kept interfering with the time I got home at night so I am a week or so behind. Here is the 8th layout I created this month but the first I am posting.

I was inspired by the challenge at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog, "inspired by a TV show". So I looked through my photos of 2012 to see if any of them reminded me of a TV show and here is what I came up with.

This has been entered in the following challenge

Mother's Day card

Here is a mother's day card I created using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge from Cricut. The card, the roses and the embellishment are all cut on my cricut.
The patterned paper has been in my stash for almost two years so I am not sure what manufacturer it is. The pink pearls in the flowers are from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from Docerela Creations.

This will be entered in the challenges linked here.

Snow Much Fun Layouts for 2012

Yes I am way behind in my yearly scrapbooks, but I am comitted to finishing the 12 months of 2012 and moving on to 2013. So here is a layout about January 2012.
The papers I used are from a scrapbooking kit from Papers Pizzazz that "Santa" brought me.
The snowflakes are a Marth Stewart punch from glittered card stock in my stash. I cut the title using the Cricut Winter Frolic cartridge. I accented it with glitter and also some snow.
As usual I have many pictures from this day so I made it a two page layout.

The first page was my take on the sketch at paperbakerykits.com. I entered the Sketch Challenge #2.

Splash!!

This layout is the first I have done in almost a year. I love it!! The first page is for the sketch challenge over at Creative Scrappers mentioned below. I created the second page because I always have so many usable shots from an occasion or event.

Everything I used has been in my stash for over a year. This is why I am entering it in the challenge over at Lasting Memories. The title sticker has been in my stash for over two years. All patterned paper is from the Tahiti Beach stack from DCWV. I got this stack on super duper clearance at JoAnnes' late 2011. The netting I used in the circle was bought last year at the Scrapbook Expo.

I cut the water splash from Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge. The frames for the pictures were cut from the fancy Frames cricut cartridge.

Create A Critter - Owl Happy Bird-Day card!

I created this cute card for my adorably sweet niece, Jacey. She loves owls so I hope she likes this card.

I cut the card, mat and banner from CTMH- Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I used bakers twine from CTMH for the banner. The paper I used for the card is from The Celebration stack from DCWV and the mat is random glittered card stock. I like to put my sentiments inside the card which is what I did.

The sentiment is from the Turkeys2stamp set and the owl is from postage2stamp. Both sets are from The Stamps of Life.

April Showers - Card with Umbrella

I made the following card for my mother in law. I haven't seen her in a while so the sentiment from "Stamps Of Life by Stephanie Barnard" was so appropriate.  I used plain cardstock that I misted with Perfect Pearls Mists in mint and I distressed the edges with Jim Holtz Distress Ink in peacock feathers. The patterned paper is from DCWV the Whimsy Stack and the umbrella was cut from Cricut Alphabet.

I entered this card in the following Challenges.

The bunny was cut from Create A Critter 2 cartridge using my Expression2. I accented his eyes and whiskers using purple Stickles. I love glitter! The grass was fussy cut and laid ontop of paper from the DCWV Whimsy Stack. I used some CTMH twine  and Martha Stewart pearls for embellishments.

"Springing" into my crafting

It has been almost a year since my last post. What a crazy busy year it has been. Now I am getting back to what I love, my crafting. Here are some Easter baskets I made for my son's preschool class.
I cut the baskets on my Cricut from Teresa Collins- Easter basket. I altered the handles though. The tags are cut from Easter Magic. I stamped them using a sentiment from Docerela Creations.

Hope you enjoy.

LMCB #85 - Grab those stencils!

This week we're challenging you to dig out those stencils and if you don't have actual stencils, get creative! Use those negative die cut pieces, trace something - you get the idea! We can't wait to see what you come up with this week.

One lucky entry will win a $10 gift certificate for Michaels or JoAnn's this week compliments of MICHELLE!! Thank you, Michelle!

If you need some inspiration here is a fabulous sketch from Sketchy Thursdays to get you started!!

Here is my take on the challenge. I do not have any stencils so I used the scrap from the mickey head punches as a stencil. I inked them with black. Then down the right side I inked the negative of a die cut star. I did some faux stitching with my gel pen.

I hope you enjoy my layout and I can't wait to see yours linked up here.

LMCB #84 –“Hopping Into Spring!”

This week at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog we are “Hopping Into Spring!”. We want you to show us your Easter/Spring time layouts.

This week we have blog candy for the winner. One lucky person will get a $15 gift certifciate to either JoAnne's or Michaels. (winners choice) Now onto the challenge.

As always it is not necessary to use the sketch but if you need some inspiration , here it is.

Now here is my Easter layout. It is actually a second page of a layout I did for an earlier challenge, LMCB #78 - Color challenge. I had more pictures to add and I wanted to rearrange the original so here is the second page. This page was stamped with egg shaped stamps I got in the dollar bin of ACMoore, The brown ones were embossed with clear powder to give the yellow paper a design with texture. There were oither eggs stamped with pink and purple ink at the bottom of the page under the grass I fussy cut from glittered card stock.  Hope you enjoy.

Now go link up you projects here for a chance at the gift card.

A Springtime hello

Over at Lasting memories Challenge Blog the design team has a real camaraderie. A few members were needing some cheering up so we decided to send a team member a card to brighten their day. Each design member chose the person above them in our team database and started to create.

Here is the card I created for my team member Haven....

I used a Docerela Creations stamp for the sentiment. I embossed the green card stock using a Sizzix folder from the Dots and Flowers set. I layered it on top of yellow floral paper from the Whimsy Stack by DCWV.
I then created the flower. I used mint color bakers twine from Martha Stewart and coiled it on a circular cutout and a pink glittered brad for the center. The flower petals are created from crinkle ribbon I purchased from 3GirlJam. (I believe it was in the Valentines Day bundle). I again used the mint colored bakers twing for the stem. I hope you like my card.

LMCB #81 How do you layer up?

This week at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog we want you to show us your layered ideas. What do you love to layer up on your layouts? Paper, flowers, embellishments???
As usual there is a sketch but it is not mandatory for the challenge. What is mandatory is that you tell us what you like to layer up in your post and you link up here.

Here is my project for this week. Although I love embellishments, I tend not to use too many. What I really like on my layouts are layers of papers and lots pictures layered on paper. Here is a two page layout I scrapped a week or maybe two ago when I found the ticket to A Day Out with Thomas.

Lasting Memories Challenge#80 Pawsitively Sweet

This week at Lasting Memories Challenge Blog we want you to showcase your animal pictures. Whether its family pets or zoo animals, we want to see them.

We have a sketch that you can follow from http://pagemaps.com if you wish. It is not mandatory so just maike sure you show us your animal pictures. You can link up your projects here LMCB #80 .

This week is exciting because we have some blog candy for the winner. Our DT member Kimberly is givng away this Cricut cartridge.

Now here is my layout. I chose to follow the sketch, but as usual my interpretation is a little off. Here are pictures of our family dog from the first day I brought him home to a picture taken this past week.

Her is a close up of the Title which will show that I used pearls and hearts instead of buttons and I used raffia around the layout instead of stitching.

I also wanted to show the photos because I did that layout in photoshop instead of matting two separate pictures. I did this because I wanted to use these paw prints in the upper left.

St. Patrick's Day card

Just wanted to share a clean and simple card I created for my Mother In Law. I stamped a Docerela Creations stamp for the sentiment "Happy St. Patrick's day" which I added some green decorative scarf (which I have had for months and never used)to. Then I stamped a four leaf clover from the Joanne's dollar bin six times along the bottom.
You can't see it in this picture but I inked the back edge of the card.

I am entering this in the following challenges.

Lasting Memories Challenge Blog #79 - We're feeling Lucky

The challenge at LMCB is a little different this week. We have 3 elements to it if you REALLY want to challenge yourself, but only ONE is mandatory! Come play along and link up your entry.
  1. We want to see the word LUCKY on your layout - this can be the title, journaling - as long as we see it and this is MANDATORY
  2. If you want a little more challenge, add in what you find inspiring about the photo below (NOT mandatory)
  3. Or challenge yourself by using the word LUCKY and the sketch. Again, this one is NOT mandatory
  4. REALLY want to challenge yourself?? Along with the word LUCKY, try the sketch AND photo!

I used the word lucky. I was so happy to find these photos of my son's first St Patty's day. I love those pants so much that he had them in two size ranges. LOL This layout was alot of fun.
